Helping You Build Your Ideal Life!

Ready for Help with This Part of Your Journey?
Welcome! I’m Diona Breese, Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Clearwater, FL, and I’m here to help you navigate life’s most difficult challenges. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, or a major life transition, therapy can offer the support and tools you need to move forward with strength and clarity.
Compassionate Therapy for Anxiety, Depression, and Life Transitions
As we journey through life, we all face obstacles that can interfere with our happiness and well-being. During these times, having someone with experience, compassion, and proven tools can make all the difference. That’s where I come in.
People Seek Therapy for Many Reasons:
- Feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or depressed
- Facing major life transitions such as divorce, career changes, or starting college
- Teen and young adult challenges, including decisions about the future
- Parenting in a world that looks very different than it did a generation ago
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in Clearwater, FL
I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), an evidence-based approach that helps individuals:
- Understand the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors
- Break free from negative thinking patterns
- Build practical tools that last beyond therapy
I believe CBT should not only bring relief during treatment, but also empower clients with strategies they can use for a lifetime.
Therapy Services for Individuals, Couples, and Families
Whether I’m working with an individual, couple, or family, I tailor treatment using a blend of approaches, always grounded in the core principles of CBT.
As a Certified Parenting Coordinator and trained Florida Supreme Court Mediator, I also provide specialized services for co-parenting through divorce. My goal is to help families stay child-focused, reduce conflict, and protect children from the emotional toll of divorce.
Areas of Expertise:
- Anxiety and Depression
- Life Transitions

- Teen and Young Adult Therapy

An Experienced and Compassionate Therapist
I earned my Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Marshall University. Before starting my private practice in 1998, I’ve also worked as:
- Lead Therapist in a private psychiatric hospital
- Regional Director for a behavioral health company
- Clinical and Training Director for a partial hospital program
- Adjunct Professor at St. Pete College
With over 30 years of experience, I know that therapy is most effective when built on a strong client-therapist relationship. As Carl Rogers, PhD, wisely said:
“How can I provide a relationship which this person may use for his own personal growth?”
More About Me
On a personal note, I’ve been married for over 30 years and am the proud mom of two grown children. My experiences as a wife and mother have shaped me just as much as my professional training. I bring that full, real-world perspective into the therapy room.
