Couples Counseling

What is Couples Counseling?

Couples Counseling also referred to as marriage counseling or relationship counseling helps partners to identify and resolve conflicts that occur in their relationship over time. It is an effective way to improve or enhance your relationship. In some cases, it can help people make the difficult decision to end a relationship but in the healthiest possible way. Couples Counseling is the time and place to explore your relationship with an objective, impartial and highly trained licensed professional.

Who Should Seek Couples Counseling?

All relationships go through difficult times. But if you find that these conflicts continue on without any resolution it is time to reach out to a couples counselor. Studies show that couples typically wait 6 years before reaching out for help. The quicker you reach out for help, the easier it will be for your couples therapist to help. It is never too early to start creating your ideal relationship!

Will Couples Counseling Work?

Couples’ therapy can save your relationship from the downward spiral of destructive conflicts, separation, and isolation. Couples experiencing a crisis often need immediate relief. As your current relational situation improves, we will work together to ensure that the problems you are facing don’t resurface in the future. We have specialized training in helping couples rebuild intimacy and create more passion in their physical relationship.

We will give you the tools to communicate more effectively, negotiate differences, problem-solve, and even argue in a healthier way.

What Types of Issues Does Couples Counseling Help?

There are many issues in a relationship that couples therapy can help to resolve, including:

  • Chronic and repetitive arguments that never get resolved
  • Parenting issues and conflict in parenting styles
  • Infidelity issues
  • Fighting that escalates to unhealthy levels
  • Communication problems
  • Sexual difficulties
  • Blended Families
  • Premarital Counseling

For those outside of the Clearwater, St Pete, Tampa area we offer couples counseling online.
